Cultural Competency Skills for Counselors

This course explores various approaches for acknowledging and overcoming biases in order to effectively serve clients holding differing cultural identities and the impact historic and existing forms of oppression can have on engagement and treatment success. Attendees will take part in experiential activities and group discussion in addition to didactic learning to gain a deeper understanding of the material presented.

Law for Kentucky LPCC

Tuesday, September 4, 2018, 1351 Newtown Pike, Lexington, KY, Building 3, Newtown Room

This training is facilitated by an LPCC and meets the requirements for continuing education by the Kentucky Board of Licensed Professional Counselors. LPCC’s and LPCA’s will learn about the Kentucky laws and regulations pertaining to their license and how the Kentucky Licensed Professional Counseling Board operates. This includes licensing requirements, definitions, educational requirements, supervision and supervisor requirements, and codes of conduct.

Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk (ASMR)

The AMSR curriculum teaches the core competencies needed to provide an attitude, framework, skill, knowledge set or routine that addresses the dilemmas suicide presents to a clinician. The workshop is designed around the five domains of competency which are outlined.

Adult Peer Support Specialist Training

Monday, September 17, 2018, Newtown Training Room, Building 3, 1351 Newtown Pike, Lexington, Kentucky

Bluegrass is approved by the Kentucky Department of Behavioral Health to present Adult Peer Support Specialist Training. This is a 30-hour program offering curriculum required to become a certified KY Adult Peer Support Specialist. All application materials and fees are due by September 10, 2018. Seating is limited. If registration is full, individuals may be waitlisted or opt to register for the training scheduled in December 2018.
