Recovery Mall
The Recovery
Mall is the hospital’s
award-winning recovery and
rehabilitation program. It’s
designed to help people change, grow and
recover from the effects of mental
illness and substance abuse. We offer a
pleasant, activity-filled environment
that doesn’t feel like a hospital.
Persons on support or self level
participate in these mall treatment
areas:
Welcome Center:
This is the
Mall’s public entrance, near the
hospital cafeteria. Interview rooms
provide space for meetings with staff.
Resource Center (RC):
The
Resource Library offers books,
magazines, newspapers, self-help
materials and music. GED preparation
groups and coaching to improve literacy
skills also are based here.
Leisure Center (LE):
A fun place with activities designed to
improve social and leisure skills.
There is a leather crafts studio, pool &
ping-pong tables, TV area, air hockey,
drawing materials, and table & board
games. Sports-oriented activities
are held in the nearby gymnasium.
The courtyard provides an outdoor break
area.
Consumer Center
(CC): Home
of the NAMI (National Alliance on Mental
Illness) office and peer support
program. The Consumer Leadership
Council meets here, as do Mall
orientation, music therapy & other
groups.
Learning Center
(LC):
Educational programs like Drug & Alcohol
Education, illness & symptom management,
coping skills, and use of medications
are just a few of the topics we cover.
The Relaxation Room is available as a
place to relax.
Skills
Center (SC):
The spot for
practical, hands-on activities.
Groups include topics like shopping,
cooking, healthy foods and taking care
of your home. A complete kitchen
and living room area are places where
you can develop many new skills.
The Computer Lab provides an area to
check e-mail, use internet resources or develop and improve computer skills.
The Greenhouse offers a job skills
training program.
